Days of Change

Be Aware of the Ides of March | March 15, 2016

Of course, today is the famed day of the assassination of Julius Caesar. If you’re going to be murdered by a supposed ally, there is some consolation in the fact that any details of your existence survive in popular culture for 2,000 years. How many politicians can say the same?

Barring some kind of freak groundswell of popular support, John Kasich and possibly Marco Rubio will reach the point of mathematical impossibility of getting the Republican nomination with a majority of delegates. Even if Kasich won Ohio, he would need as many delegates and 100% of all remaining delegates to win the nomination outright. Rubio and Kasich will become the chaos candidates tonight, confusing the field enough in the hope that Donald Trump will get to the convention with 49% of the delegates instead of 50%.

For real voters, it means you can either vote for Trump, vote for Cruz or vote against both. Otherwise, your vote has no impact on the nomination. Tonight, that makes me a Cruz supporter.

Go creepy dude!

  1. Paragraph one of this post is exceptionally captivating. It restores some of the perspective damaged by the long, contentious primary season.
