Days of Change

No Holds Barred | March 12, 2016

First they ignore you. Then they ridicule you. And then they attack you and want to burn you. And then they build monuments to you. And that, is what is going to happen to the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America.

I haven’t really weighed in on all the violence stories and the Trump campaign this week. My opinion doesn’t really affect this race because both sides are pretty much set in their ways. If I can’t convince anyone, I can at least offer support to those who do agree with me.

Let’s start with Michelle Fields. This story is a perfect storm of finding bullets and looking for a smoking gun. On March 8, Fields was walking with other journalists asking questions of Donald Trump. After she asked a question, she was pulled away by her arm. She was pulled back and had to focus on keeping her balance. Her boyfriend who was with her said that it was Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s campaign manager.

Lewandowski was asked about the incident by Matthew Boyle, the Breitbart political editor and Fields’ boss. Lewandowski claimed to not know who Fields was. Technically, he did not deny grabbing someone at the event. He certainly did not claim responsibility as other outlets tried to claim.

What we have is a woman with a bruised arm and a video just before the grab where Lewandowski was moving toward Fields. It could have been anybody, but it seems most likely to be Lewandowski. Now the police are involved and they have to waste their time on this.

Now, we know that Trump talks big. Put up a wall. Build it higher if they complain. Blow shit up in the Middle East. “Kill ’em” is a refrain for a lot of situations. He also tends to order protesters to be thrown out. His campaign also blocks and pens in the media. Jamie Dupree, a frequent Hannity radio guest, has said Trump is now worse than Hillary for media access. Most Trump supporters would either say Trump has to do this or that the opponents of Trump deserve what they get.

All of this has nothing to do with the protests on Friday night. Black Lives Matter (more) and other left-wing groups were orchestrating a show of force. They were outraged that Trump says things specifically on their list of speech to ban and he’s getting more popular because of it. Instead of protesting with a few people, they brought in waves, easily recruited in a place like Chicago. Eventually, the location became impossible to secure.

This is nothing new. Donald Trump isn’t a victim of some new tactic against his ideas. This has happened to conservatives for decades. It happened while Trump ignored conservatives to praise Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama early in his presidency. Frankly, I’m not outraged by other Republicans going after Trump’s campaign for these attacks. Trump held a huge rally in Chicago to show he could and failed. He’s supposed to be a fighter. Learn to fight these people like the right has been doing for years.

  1. The quote at the top of the post is by Nicholas Klein, a leftist union boss.

  2. Could the alleged victim be lying? Does she have ties to the RNC, other RePub candidates, HRC an/or the Dems and/or other leftists? And why was she singled Out to be manhandled? Without answers, I’ll cannot accePt that she’s anything but an agent provacateur.

    • I am fully confident someone grabbed her. There is no direct evidence it was Corey Lewandowski, however. The paranoia that everyone is out to get Donald Trump is something I do blame on the Trump campaign. BLM is out to get everyone, even the Democrats. Plus, he ticks a lot of people off.

Not supporting Trump makes me one of “them” among a lot of people I know who like Trump. It starting to make me not like these people.
