Days of Change

Sarah Palin Crushes My Soul | January 20, 2016

I assume I should write something about Sarah Palin endorsing Donald Trump. What do I, a big supporter of Palin and a critic of Trump feel about such a thing? Should I embrace the Trump movement or should I abandon everything I’ve thought about Palin? A lot of other people are doing the latter. I pick another option.

Sarah Palin endorsements are still important. They were very effective in 2010, as Senator Ted Cruz will attest (and Nikki Haley and other Tea Party winners). Her political prognostication is based on two things, how conservative the candidate is and how likely they are to win with just that extra push from Palin. Sarah didn’t always pick the most anti-establishment candidates in 2010 (Kelly Aytotte, John McCain) either.

Sarah Palin values loyalty, and Trump has not (to my knowledge, because things always seem to crop up with him) said anything bad about her. I understand why Sarah made this endorsement. I am not especially heartbroken over it. I also will not change my primary vote (pointless or not) because of her endorsement.

  1. I believe she sees Trump as the new Pres and is angling for a spot in his cabinet–maybe Secretary of Energy.

      • I haven’t changed my opinion of either one. Then again, endorsements aren’t all that persuasive.
