Days of Change

A Midnight Clear | December 25, 2015

I was at the deli yesterday listening to people saying how great it is that they can actually grill steaks on Christmas. That’s a big deal for the Northeast. I was working in the garage on Christmas Eve, which is probably a first for the holiday.

No white Christmas this year. In fact, the 24th was so sunny and clear that you couldn’t even see Christmas lights until 5 pm. For a few days this week, it was dark and gray the whole afternoon. The light snow last Sunday was melted the next morning by rain.

It looks like this will turn around by New Years. Temperatures will fall into the teens with highs in the low 30’s. The amount of snow is a guess, but New Year’s has had snowfalls measured in feet. Much like the baby Jesus, this El Nino was a gift. It was fun while it lasted.

  1. A nice reprieve for the Nor’east, but where is the El Nino rain for which a parched CA thirsts?

    Hope Santa treated you right.
