Days of Change

A Life of Fear

During Franklin Roosevelt’s first Inaugural Address in 1933, he stated:

So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is…fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and of vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. And I am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days.

Most of the speech was actually about not fearing the wealthy and powerful, but getting people jobs and using their money to do it. At the same time, Adolph Hitler was preaching National Socialism in Germany, where the country would work toward a common goal. He, too, would eventually attack the merchants, especially the Jewish ones who weren’t part of his new nation.

Most world leaders spent the first half decade of the Nazi Party impressed with its ability to restore Germany after physical and economic devastation. Even their principles of Eugenics interested the Western world because it promised progress in the physical development of the human race. The Aryan concept in Nazi Germany actually had its roots in Iran, who used the term to designate themselves as nobles in a world of peasants.

As such, I find it a little unfortunate that an article rife with Antisemitism was written by Daily News writer Linda Stasi, who shares the last name of the Anti-Jewish secret police who took over East Germany after the Nazis were defeated. For obvious reasons, she prefers to pronounce it “Stacy.”

In the week following the massacre at San Bernardino, details of the motivation have been scarce, even though the feds are at least now considering terrorism. Friends and family of one victim, Nicholas Thalasinos, came forward on social media to reveal that the co-worker who killed him was spouting all kinds of Islamic racism and threats. Thalasinos gave as good as he got, inquiring why the eventual shooter was growing such a big beard all of a sudden.

This dump of real information was put down as much as possible. The Daily News had been blaming (non-Muslim) religious faith and inanimate objects for the attack, but had to move on to blaming the victims. In fact, Nicholas Thalasinos was no longer deemed an “innocent” victim because he was too active in social media. The wages of thought crime are death.

Hopefully, my readers know the border test. If you removed the borders from all the countries, which ones would fill and which would empty out? We know the answer in the US because our borders are merely a suggestion these days. The countries that would empty, on the other hand, are filled with people who are afraid. Fear destroys quality of life. As an aside, some of the least fearful people in this country are legal gun owners. The government also seems to fear them the most.

We already have multiple examples around the globe or people who are hurt or killed for defying Islamic dogma. Malala Yousafzai is so famous that the movie about her only uses her first name. She’s been adopted as a symbol of “girl power” in the US instead of the struggle against political Islam which is why she’s still beloved by the Left. However, the Left knows their enemies are more domestic than foreign. Like Obama and FDR, the Daily News makes sure to attack wrong thinking more than even murderers. They try to understand how guns made this killer couple killers, but seek to posthumously throw Nicholas Thalasinos into a journalistic gas chamber.

I choose to “covert retreat into advance,” much like FDR said. I just choose to advance against monsters instead of rich people.
