Days of Change

I’m Still Not a Fan of Microsoft | June 12, 2014

I read a Breitbart story today about the Gates Foundation trying to get out of the abortion business. The attempt is to still support family planning, but not contribute to pregnancy termination. The reality is that the money in any family planning enterprise is providing abortions. There is still enough stigma attached to birth control that a woman may choose abortion instead when faced with the reality of a pregnancy.

This is similar to a realization I came to a couple of years ago. Restrictions on birth control will increase abortions. If you want to limit or eliminate the number of abortions, you have to make contraception legal, morally acceptable and very affordable. Melinda Gates wants to spread family planning around the world as a way to reduce poverty. It is a sad state of affairs when new human life becomes an economic handicap, but I understand the sentiment.

The Gates’ are still not great for the world. They support the complicated machinations of Common Core and still believe that throwing money at people makes their lives better. I guess that means my copy of Windows is a tax to socially engineer people around the world who can’t even afford a computer.

  1. Like that other billionaire Oprah Winfrey, Gates thinks a ton of money confers punditship.
