Days of Change

Day 1219 – Break the Pattern | March 7, 2012

There are two methods of hypnosis using the confusion technique. One is to saturate the subject with ideas and suggestions. This is what the mainstream media does, creating and echo chamber where one state of reality is created. The other is to break a common pattern created over time, like interrupting a simple handshake.

This is what Andrew Breitbart excelled in. The mainstream media would invite him on, attempt to ambush him with a gotcha question (one in which biased evidence is presented as a substitute for asking an open-ended questions) and get an earful instead. He could talk about provably false statements made about videos that appeared on Big Government, the hypocrisy of stories where they took the liberal point of view and ignored a conservative one, or he would just ask why they were bringing up subjects irrelevant to him to tie him to others they considered “conservative.”

There are a very few who have the ability and opportunity to do the same. One was John Ziegler, whose infatuation with Sarah Palin eventually turned sour and turned him bitter. Then there’s Newt Gingrich, who is at his best when he questions the media’s narrative instead of playing their game. That’s why the reaction to Newt has been hard and swift from both the Romney campaign and the media. He needs to be painted as mean, nasty and crazy in the echo chamber before people start to break out of their trance.

Mitt Romney made me a little happier the other day when he said in an interview that if someone didn’t like his success, they could vote for the other guy. It was a brief glimmer of him not trying to be all things to all people. There will be one candidate who is on two or more sides of every issues, it’s time for one who will take some kind of stand. I think Romney can be that candidate after he wins the nomination. There will be a tremendous amount of good will among those who want Obama gone. All Romney has to do is break the pattern of bland slogans and provable lies.

  1. I think that Gingrich, like Palin, has been ambushed by Romney’s ambition and the msm’s knowledge of how Newt and/or Sarah would smash their idol to smithereens.
Breitbart’s videos today. It wasn’t worth dying for..

  6. I have to wonder if he got a snippet of the Khalidi tape 1539. They said that it was game changer. I do think that the WH would stop at nothing to ensure that the video never sees the light of day. Particularly right now with Israel cornered.

  7. I want to see that Khalidi tape too. I have wondered if perhaps somehow Breitbart got his hands on it. When he said a few weeks ago he had some tapes, my mind immediately went to the Khalidi tape.

I’m still pissed at the LA Times, first they should have released it way back…….but they promised to release it after the election and never did. Since Breitbart is in the area I wondered if he had a connection or made one and managed to get a copy. I really, really hope he did and the Khalidi tape sees the light of day and I hope it is every bit as damning as we’ve been made to believe.
