Day 240

People love free stuff.

My mother worked for a grocery store owner who complained that everyone wanted everything for free. Barring that, they made demands for everything to be as perfect as possible but cost the same as the crap at the chain store. You get what you pay for.

A lot has been made about the people not wanting the kind of change the criminals in Congress believe in. I’m not so sure. Social Security is the third rail of politics. Welfare has been replaced by “community organizing” shakedowns of banks who donate to a government that keeps them rolling in play money.

Even when the free market is suppressed, it still exists. When the government gives people money, the product goes up in price. Supply goes up because demand is high and money is no object. Health care and education expenses have exploded due to the availability of government money. Businesses respond by doing what the government says and paying them off to control the message.

While Republicans have given a lot of tax breaks to business, this administration has handed out free money to more corporations than any other in history. Business has become dependent on the government. They want everything for free now.

Except it’s not free. All the money everyone in the country has couldn’t pay off the national debt now. China sees the writing on the wall and is bailing on American currency. And they keep spending more. And we keep getting what we paid, and voted, for.
