Day 238

Go
to
a
tea
party.

I know I keep returning to this point, but it’s an important one. Tea Parties are the closest thing to an anti-administration protest there is in this country. Is it anti-tax? Very much so. Is it anti big government? Absolutely. It is also a demonstration that there are people who are motivated. Anyone who will get up and go to a tea party can get up and go to a polling booth.

Last week, the Jackass tried to negate Iranian protests by saying that the opponent was just as bad as the current president. These were not Musavi rallies. They weren’t even rallies for his more moderate wife. These were rallies of people who were fed up with a rigged election. Even when the clerics pick the candidates, they put aside the results of an election.

That’s the similarity. People in the United States are sick of their own elected representitives ignoring them to pass unpopular legislation. They think that with enough slush money and campaign ads, they’ll be reelected anyway. Have you had enough of that?

If you do go, feel free to wear your Neda shirt, available at Freedom Fairy’s page. And stand next to the Obama/Hitler guy, so that the media knows there are a multitude of people there. I think you’ll find liberals and conservatives with a common goal can play nice.

Day 237

Bernie Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in prison today. While this is a victory to some, his $50 billion fraud doesn’t hold a candle to the $50 trillion of housing asset manipulation committed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

And it continues. While banks have basically learned that giving mortgages to anyone with a pulse is a bad move, Congress and ACORN disciple Jackass want to resurrect a system that forced financial institutions to ignore the obvious to raise up “the poor.”

This is impossible. If you divided up the entire US economy and gave it to each person equally, it would add up to $50,000 a person. Frist of all, after the debt was paid off, it would go down to about $16,000. Now that everyone has the same money, the people who are skilled will quickly get it all back. Doctors and farmers and craftsmen and anyone who can repair anything will be in a good position.

Once communities “organize” to pool their money,  administrators will be able to take their cut to make deals. And the tax man would come back for the government’s $9,000 a year. A group of people would end up poor all over again. That’s what capitalism is. It’s the way life works. If you give up capitalism, you are in decline. Eventually, it will come back to a society.

Day 236

Billy Mays passed away today. I guess David Axelrod will need a new example.

Day 235

If Jackass learned only one thing this week, (and that’s a lot of learning for him) it had nothing to do with legislation or political policy. He learned he is not black Jesus.

More people know, like and recognize Michael Jackson than President Jackass. Jackson accomplished more in his career before puberty than this president will likely accomplish in his whole life. And he will never be as popular as the King of Pop even if he tries to be king of the world.

Quick, what’s Barack Obama’s singular talent? Gotcha, didn’t I? Even though “Smooth Criminal” comes to mind, another Jackson song describes the effect Jackass has on people. An effect, mind you, that has almost nothing to do with the man himself and almost entirely to do with the writers and marketers who packaged him.

Selected lines from “The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael Jackson. The soundtrack of Chris Matthews’ dreams.

I like the feelin’ you’re
Givin’ me
Just hold me baby and I’m
In ecstasy
Oh I’ll be workin’ from nine
To five
To buy you things to keep
You by my side
I never felt so in love before
Just promise baby, you’ll
Love me forevermore
I swear I’m keepin’ you
Satisfied
’cause you’re the one for me
The way you make me feel
You really turn me on
You knock me off of my feet
Now baby-hee!
My lonely days are gone

Day 234

I hope everyone realizes that it doesn’t matter anymore. If you are not voting for a Republican for every elected position in 2010, this country is lost. Calling your Congressman now doesn’t count. Reading the bill doesn’t matter. Every vote is along party lines. And I don’t like these lines.

It may be too late already.

Day 233

Another reason I don’t want government money in health care is because the entire medical system is dirty to the core. Until that is corrected, we might as well forget it.

Day 232

You know, I’m just a working drone. I doubt I will start my own business or come up with the next big thing. I do believe that the guys on top do a better job in the free market.

But a lot of those guys made dirty deals to get ahead. So, if people want socialized medicine, that’s fine with me. I won’t get screwed for years to come. I have no problem sitting on my ass getting a government check like the unemployed in the UK. I’ll have more fun and less stress and it will ruin this country.

Having a party over principle. Is that the concession you want, Jackass?

Day 231

I’m going to keep this short tonight. Now some of the Preseident’s detractors agree with his moral cowardice. Good job. This is exactly how people like him get elected.

Day 230

I’m getting pretty tired of this idiot administration’s idea that they can psych out all their opponents. The father of the Republican Party pointed out that you can fool all of the people (or most) some of the time. Jackass and his minions fooled about 52% of the electorate, or 20% of the population. It’s wearing off fast.

Speaking of that, Presidential approval ratings have dropped about 20% to 52%. The stock market is down about 500 points from a 2009 high. Most people want the Stimulus revoked and Congress doesn’t want to put their necks on the line for a chance to get trounced in 2010.

Now that the American people know better, they want to try to pull the same scam in foreign policy. Liberals have been trotting out the rather dubious philosophy that fighting terrorists leads to more terrorism. It’s a chicken and the egg argument. How did terrorism begin if it’s caused by anti-terrorism?

Guess what? The rest of the world knows Jackass is a joke. He’s the opposite of President Bush. Last year, world leaders feared of respected him and the populations hated him. Now the populations of the world think the President is a celebrity and world leaders think he’s a blithering idiot.

Is it too much to ask that this country believe in something instead of trying to convince everyone that the sky is red and water is dry?

Day 229

We are not the world’s policeman.

This phrase has been used a lot in the political realm. President Bush held to it until he began nation building on a massive scale. President Clinton ceded US authority by giving US soldiers to the UN, who are technically the world’s policemen. Jackass seems to avoid any intervention at all.

Is that what it will take? The rest of the world generally denies US authority but tends to take its help and investment whenever it is offered. If the current administration is too weak and incompetent to take a stand will the world learn to do it on its own?

Iran is facing a sham election where the results are almost certainly fake. Would the people have risen up if a US president criticized the current president of Iran and put pressure on the theocracy running it? Does our involvement taint the very freedom we hope to promote?

We have entered a true era of the hands-off policy. We talk and we hand out money, but we make no promises. Our former allies are a burden to us, and we’d prefer to treat every dictator like an elected world leader. The stated goal is to cool down the animosity on all sides. The effect may be to teach the rest of the world that the US is as irrelevant as they fantasized it was all along. For the next 4 years, they’ll have to keep themselves safe.
