Day 147

Let me tell you why Barack Obama is a terrorist. Terrorism is the use of fear against others to achieve your personal goals. So, threaten a company with destruction if they ignore your demands. Threaten the country with economic ruin if it doesn’t go into debt. Threaten the world with global destruction unless they live in darkness.

Do the people give in to intimidation? One test will be tonight’s special election. In a race where the previous officeholder was a Democrat and with an Obot mailing campaign, it is still too close to call.

Day 146

When we look back at the still undiscovered level of depravity that exemplified the 2008 campaign, much of it will have ACORN attached to it. And when we look back on the day the New York Times closed it’s doors and becomes a quaint subscription website, it will also have ACORN attached to it.

Turns out that a NYT reporter was investigating Project Vote, one of the many tentacles of ACORN, when a whistleblower revealed that the Obama campaign gave them a list of maxed-out donors. This means the Obama campaign could no longer tap them for money legally. The instead intended for Project Vote to violate campaign laws to hit them up for get out the vote money.

The kicker is that the paper allegedly killed the story when the Obama link was discovered on the grounds that it was a “game changer.” I’m sure the NYT had the same opinion of the Bush drunk driving ticket in 2000 or the fake National Guard memo in 2004. Or, you know, Watergate.

I doubt that the important stuff will come out for years. Obama’s actual history, his ties to Arab millionaires and his anti-American statements which mysteriously disappeared will all be discovered by historians not influenced by their own biases, like the dubious Michael Beschloss. He once stated that Obama had the highest IQ of any president, with absolutely no data to back it up. Maybe he should work for the New York Times.

Day 145

President Ozymandias will announce his auto bailout plan tomorrow. So far, it looks like he’s forcing the CEO of GM to resign and give tens of billions (again) to the auto unions and the companies they control.

Wait until Friday when the unemployment numbers come out. Maybe he can make the Labor Secretary resign. But not the president. Never the president.

Day 144

It’s turn off your lights day. Unlike the well meaning, but unlucky scientists who are attempting to study polar ice melting during an unexpected ice storm, this act of political staging was concocted at just the right time.

You see, we are in a period of northern hemispheric warming known as Spring. As such, if I turn on every single thing in my house except heat, the aggregate usage will still be lower than it was a couple of weeks ago. Good timing to show people “turned off” their life-enhancing electric products.

The current administration, which is in the dark intellectually, heat the White House to 80 degrees and leave their Blackberry chargers plugged in so their interns can always keep them powered up. Their plan to conserve is to impoverish people by taxing the life sustaining energy that heats their homes and devices that keep them safe and comfortable.

The shanty towns cropping up in California made up of people evicted from their homes are the eventual result of these cap and trade policies. Prince Charles considered the Indian slums of “Slumdog Millionaire” an example of “resilient” urban planning we may need in the future.

If that’s the case, I’m turning everything on now. Might as well use my share while I still have it.

Day 143

I was pretty sure this was true, but I have some confirmation now.

When Obama gave the British Prime Minister a DVD set my first thought, after the insultingly thoughtless nature of the gift, was that I hoped the DVDs were British Region 2 instead of American Region 1 DVDs. This was not the case. Yes, Obama gave another world leader the equivalent of a Betamax tape.

This is supposedly the most technologically forward team in history, with Youtube addresses and Blackberry texting. These are not high-tech tools, these are high-tech toys. The men who use them in the White House are apparently the tools. Even in their myopic consumer electronics world, they did not think about something mentioned on the second page of EVERY DVD Owner’s Manual.

By the way, the PM gave Obama a pen case made from the hull of a British warship instrumental to the end of the slave trade in the British empire. This is something that might have been meaningful to Obama’s British citizen father (regardless of Obama’s citizenship). Obama probably would have preferred that cool-ass car from the last James Bond movie. Or a night with Daniel Craig.

Day 142

“You have run out of our money.”

Daniel Hannan has become the next brave soul who is really speaking truth to power. Ironically, in this environment of “tea parties,” he is a British Member of Parliament speaking against the Prime Minister. It is amazing how much he could have been speaking about our own spender-in-chief. It is compelling and every American should watch it.

To all the people who believe they are comfortably seated in power, know this. There are men like him and like me. We are scattered, but we are many. We are the sleeping Giant. When we awaken, you will either see the wisdom of the people or your time will end.

Day 141

I’m going to be lazy and repeat a post I made on another blog. I’ve made the point before, but the fact is that we are basically pissing away money we don’t have to get extremely short term gains that will vanish when the government can’t push another trillion out of the economy.

I sometimes like to blog about economics in very general terms. My opinion is that unregulated capitalism is indistinguishable from communism. Look at the example of “if you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door.” Ideally, the person who has the better approach gets the patent and sells the idea to everyone who wants it. Or they go into business themselves. In reality, the mousetrap guy has huge startup costs, gets shut out of shelf space in the major stores, he sells his patent for a song and the big mousetrap company burns the plans and uses advertising to convince people that the old mousetrap is good enough.

I think we have had an unsustainable level of obligations for the last couple of decades and we’re creating more at an accelerated rate. To get close to the Adam Smith ideal, the government would have to stop approving most of the larger mergers which is already in their power. Notice this president hasn’t brought up “too big to fail” or mark to market suspension or anything that might negatively impact his source of campaign funding. We’re getting the worst of capitalism and communism at the same time.

Day 140

Did he fail?

I caught a little of Rush Limbaugh’s show today. He brought up the point he was one of the first who decided to publicly wish for the failure of Obama’s Chicago-style politics in Washington. While he has destroyed American wealth for the next generation, has he failed or simply failed the country?

I have no idea what this jerk’s plan is exactly. Either he’s a well meaning dolt who doesn’t understand that punishing business and taxing energy out of existence will make the country poor and the tax rolls minuscule. Or he’s a megalomaniac who is plotting the downfall of Western Civilization based on his icons Saul Alinsky and Muslim clerics. Not knowing what’s going on in his damn mind, I have no idea if he’s getting what he wants or not.

All I know is that he seems tired. Lazy people get tired easily. He took a lot of vacations during the campaign, since John McCain put up about as much resistance to Obama as Meghan McCain puts up to a liberal talk show booker. Passing the buck off to Geithner is drawing fire, but eventually the guy drawing the fire will be shot up to the point of being usefulness.

I think Rush had it right. Skip the weekend tea parties. It’s time to march on this bastard’s home turf of D.C.

Day 139

Politico, a website which generally sucks, mentioned that the New York Times had liberal and conservative columnists pointing out the flaws in the Obama administration. I didn’t find them very critical of the fool-in-chief himself, but one thing is true. The honeymoon is over.

Has the wall of liberal tyranny been broken? Certainly not. Unlike Bush, whowas either tied to every bad member of his administration or considered Cheney’s intern, Obama’s sin is one of bad judgement, where Geithner is the evil businessman who is tainting the saint.

At least their god is shown to have feet of clay. It took a while for conservatives to finally give up on Bush as well. But once someone is broken, they’re broken. That probably goes double for Congress.

Day 138

President Ozymandias is back on TV tonight getting a softball Steve Kroft interview in tonight’s 60 Minutes. Ironically, 60 Minutes is the show known for tricking people by using fake tape changes  and airing things the interviewee didn’t want aired. But it’s also the “destroy Bush at all cost with fake memos” network, so he should be fine.

The press has an overinflated view of its importance. It has always believed it was the protector of the public against tyranny. In practice, it protects tyranny by keeping it in check. When tyranny is set free, the public has no choice but to revolt. America was founded on tax freedom. And this continued slide into debt and unchecked spending is putting people in a revolting mood.

The media is very much on the ropes. Newspapers (liberal ones, funny that) are at the same time losing readers and providing absolutely no news about what’s really happening. They are abdicating their responsibility to further their ideology. Cable news is cutting back financially. People like Lou Dobbs and Glen Back are becoming underground superstars while Bill O’Reilly is becoming an Obama defending joke.

After a win by the Democrats just 138 days earlier, their party is already dead even with Republicans in the polls. This is very bad news for them as they usually outpoll Republicans all the time. Presidential approval ratings are now lower than Bush’s in 2001 and could be lower than his in 2008 in two years. The people have had it.
